Frank Basile
This has been a very busy and exciting year for Frank. He continues to play with the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra and Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band. He also plays with Folklore Urbano and the Queens Jazz Orchestra which is led by jazz icon Jimmy Heath. Additionally, Frank has performed with his quintet and with various groups in a variety of clubs in NY City.
Frank spent eight months this past year on Broadway as part of the on stage band for the musical Come Fly Away. He also performed in the Tony Awards Show seen on CBS in June, and with Spiritualized at Radio City Music Hall in July.
Recently, his new CD, which is a tribute to Pepper Adams, was released on CD Baby. He spent two weeks in Paris in the fall playing and promoting another CD venture with the Fabien Mary Quartet. Frank can also be heard as a member of the horn section on the David Sanborn 2010 release Only Everything.

Some CDs to consider
On Only Everything, Sanborn is joined by a tight, small group featuring the hard-grooving organist Joey DeFrancesco and the well-traveled drum dynamo Steve Gadd. The addition of a four-member horn section—Bob Malach (tenor), Frank Basile (baritone), Tony Kadlock (trumpet) and Mike Davis (bass trombone)—on about half the tracks gives the album a 'little big band' vibe that evokes Charles' 1961 Atlantic classic Genius + Soul = Jazz.
